Things I want to correct

1. Why nowadays people in Friendster are chatting via comments/testimonial? It meant to be a place to give testimony/opinion about certain people. To chat, we have another tool, that is messages. Don’t people realize, how annoying it is to browse through bunch of not-providing-any-information comments just to get real comments to read?

2. Weird trend about incorrect usage of “secara” in Indonesia.

“Menurut Kamus Besar Bahasa Indonesia, secara berarti sebagai, selaku, menurut (berhubungan dengan adat, kebiasaan, dll), dengan cara, dengan jalan, dengan (sebagai kata tambah).”

According to Indonesian dictionary, “secara” means with, as, –ly (adjective form).

But many people are misusing it. They use it in replace of “because”. I’m really annoyed with it, and I swear I won’t misuse that word.

3. Number three is not really important, that is the mispronunciation of foreign names.
My classmate, Brian (which should be pronounce as ‘Brayn’/'Brayen’) is called ‘Brian’.
My friend, Tyson (which should be pronounce as ‘Taisen’) is called ‘Tison’.
And many chinese names written in Pin Yin; for example:
Zhang Ziyi : Cang Cze I.
Liu Bei : Liu Pei.
Gong Li: Kong Li/Koung Li.
Guan Yu: Kuan I (actually not I, but Ui (shape your mouth as saying u, but instead say i)).
French names:
Louis Vuitton : Lui Vitong
Jean Paul Gaultier : Zang Pol Zotie
Chanel : Syanel
Hermes: Erme
Yves Saint Lauret: Iv Sang Lorang
Givenchy : Gifangsyi

It just a rough picture of how to pronounce some foreign names. CMIIW
